Team Analysis Software: Types, Pricing & How to Choose

10 Oct 2026 · elematch team · ~5 min read

Short answer: team analysis software comes in three families — questionnaire assessments (DiSC, MBTI, Belbin and friends), behavioural analytics (tools that read your Slack/Jira data), and birth-date frameworks (elematch's category). Their pricing models differ completely: assessments charge per head plus facilitator fees, analytics platforms charge per seat per month, birth-date tools are the lightest. Full comparison below, including actual numbers, because we publish ours.

What each family actually costs

Questionnaire assessments. The questionnaire is the cheap part. Done properly you buy the assessment per person, then hire a certified facilitator for the debrief workshop, billed per day. For a team of ten, a single round typically lands in the four-to-five-figure USD range. That's the business model: certifications and the network that sells them.

Behavioural analytics. Enterprise SaaS: per seat, per month, rising with headcount. Two hidden costs: convincing your whole company to let a vendor read its collaboration data, and the fact that below ~20 people there isn't enough data to say anything.

Birth-date frameworks (us). elematch publishes every price: new accounts get US$13 of welcome credit, enough for one personal insight and one team map, no credit card. After that, Starter is US$7.5/month, Pro US$62/month, and a one-off Team Workshop Pack is US$98 (covers up to 40 people). Why publish? Because the only real reason to hide pricing is wanting to negotiate every deal.

Which family fits you?

Three questions before you buy any of them

  1. Am I analysing individuals or combinations? Most tools output individual reports; most team problems live between people.
  2. Will my team actually complete it? Tools fail less on framework quality than on half the team never finishing the questionnaire.
  3. What happens after the report? Any output not followed by a conversation is forgotten in three weeks. The tool is the ticket; the talk is the show.

The hard line

Whatever family you choose: never use personality or team analysis to hire, promote or fire. The assessment vendors say it; we write it into our terms of service. (Why we're strict about this: Can BaZi Be Used in Hiring? Why We Say No.)

FAQ

How much does team analysis software cost?

Assessments: per person per round, typically four-to-five figures USD for a facilitated team round. Analytics: per seat monthly. elematch: US$13 free welcome credit, then from US$7.5/month, all published at /pricing.

Is there free team analysis software?

Free personality quizzes abound, but few offer team-level output, and watch where your team's data goes. elematch's welcome credit covers a full trial of both products before you pay anything.

Is a birth-date framework accurate?

We don't claim psychometric measurement. The five-element framework is a structured reflection language, not a test score. Its value is starting a structured team conversation in minutes, not "accuracy."
